Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Today was pretty laid back for us. We did some house work and basically laid around all day.
I know I haven't written anything in a long time. so I'll see if I can scrounge up some stuff to write about...
Yesterday I was standing in my room & had a moment of 'freak out' I realized, I have so much baby stuff and no where to put it. ok i don't have THAT much stuff, I just had some clothes and no dresser. So I made a list of what I needed, and we went to Walmart. I did end up getting a diaper organizer, and a clear plastic shelving unit thing (with drawers) to put clothes in. and Now I'm satisfied.
Then today I had another moment like "crap.... I have my first home visit (for early head start) on Monday. and this place is a disaster!" so we cleaned... it's not even close to were I want it, but I'm too tired....
There was also no ringing in the New Year for us. I was asleep by about 10:30. Haha...
My Great Grandma also passed away recently. Her funeral was last Thursday (the 30th) in Duluth. After work on Wednesday, Marshal and I drove to Grand Rapids to stay at his old foster family's house. We hadn't seen them in a long time and It was nice to get caught up again. Jada was at my parents house, so we had a good time with just us. We slept there, and the next morning, we were getting ready to leave (at about 7). Oh My Gosh. the roads were HORRIBLE! we ended up getting to the gas station (about 5 miles from their house) and turned around after talking to my Grandmother (who also turned around) and My dad (they turned around to) so we spend some time at the foster family's house.
After a couple hours we decided to take off and spend some time in Grand Rapids. We went to Walmart (which is a LOT nicer then the one in Bemidji) and then to GameStop. We have been talking about getting a Wii Fit for awhile now and we asked if they had any used boards. So we picked up a board for $60 and a used game for $4. not bad!
After that we decided that we were tired & ready to go home. On the way home we went up to my parents house and got Jada. Hung around there for awhile, until mom got off work. By then the roads were starting to get crappy again and we had to go home so we'd be back before dark.
We got home around 5ish. and decided to try out the Wii. I discovered that Jada can play it! and she does pretty good! she's really good at the yoga. Marshal is good at the hola hoop (which is weird, but he cheats). And well, i'm not good at anything because my balance sucks from being pregnant (30 weeks now! YAY!) and I get tired/wore out easily. Lol.
That's about the extent of our last couple days.
Of course Jada has had some days off of school, but spent most of the time at my parents (Thank God my sister was home from college, I saved money on daycare!!). She sure has missed school though and cannot wait to get back!
We had a pretty good Christmas too. It was so nice to see everyone and be around everyone. Jada got a lot of presents. I think it's safe to say she'll be happy for a LONG time. She also got to open some presents for baby brother. She opened a blanket for him. and came over to my belly and told him exactly what he got. it was cute. haha.
Oh, Just remembered. Monday night we went out on a date... we went to Applebee's and had some supper, then to blockbuster to get some movies. Shortly after eating (about an hour) I started getting horrible stomach cramps. I passed it off as eating something that didn't agree & figured I would be fine the next morning. I woke up at about 3AM crying, curled in a ball, and ran to the bathroom. needless to say, I was sick. The cramping went on for a few hours. and at 5 Marshal called in at work saying I was sick and he needed to take care of me. then at 6:15ish I called my work and said I was sick. I was not feeling any better. I felt horrible, and we called the Ask-A-Nurse line. she said to have me drink fluids and lay on my left side. I drank some water and eventually I was in too much pain. We went to the ER. The admitted me to the Birthing center (because I'm so far along) and hooked me up to monitors. I wasn't having contractions, so that was good. Eventually my Dr. came up and saw me, said everything looked ok. and since I had been in the bathroom so much (lots of urine output) I probably wasn't dehydrated. but to be on the safe side, they hooked me up to an IV and pumped some fluids in me.
Now I have difficult veins, it's very hard to get IV's in me. When I was in labor with Jada it took them 14 tries to get one, and with Emily it took 9 tries. well, this nurse rocked (and I will be requesting her when I go in). They had to put in the IV, but also do a blood draw, she decided to do it at the same site, blood draw first. She went to insert the IV (after the draw) and when she started the pump, it burst :( . she decided to go to the other hand and got the IV right away. It was perfect, the site didn't even hurt!!! the 1st one would have worked if not for the blood draw. I was really amazed!! she then told me "they don't call me one stick for nothing". LOL. it was great.
I went home after about 4 hours and was feeling SO much better. I think I had food poisoning & dehydration... The instructions I had were to take it easy, and drink more water, and boy did Marshal enforce that.
I went back to work on Wednesday and was feeling about 80% better, I was still pretty exhausted, but my co-workers take care of me. :D
as of today I am much much better. I just have to remember to drink lots of water.
Updates with Dino baby:
The Dr. didn't tell me how I measured at the last appointment (and I forgot to ask).
my weight is about 7lbs more then when I first started. :(
and he's VERY VERY active. This kid does NOT stop. it's crazy.
Dr. did mention that an active baby usually means a healthy baby, so we are happy about that.
Well I hope the New Year is good for everyone! and that it brings happiness & Love :D

making a registry, and other events
Hello everyone!!
Burr it's cold outside. I'm sure glad I did all my running around yesterday. It says it's 3 degrees out, but the real feel is -9. yucky!
So I spent most of the morning making a baby registry at amazon.com and also getting kicked in the stomach (by this growing dino baby).
I realized it's hard to make a registry.
#1 I never know what to put on them, because my place is so small and it's like what am I really going to use?
#2 if I see something that I think is expensive, i always think "i don't have that kind of money, why would someone spend that" but after some reassurance, I added some "pricey" items.
and #3.. Marshal is so so so opinionated on this little man. haha!
but in the end I did it, I realized that people can ban together and get 1 gift, and Lord knows, I'm not picky...
So the next challenge is figuring out a baby shower.. when, where, how, where (yeah, i know.. i put it twice, but who knows!)
My first baby shower was when I was 15, right after I had Jada. we had it at the warehouse, the church's youth building, and all my high school friends came, it was fun. we ate cake, played with Jada, didn't really do much for games, we were all young.
So, for me, this baby shower is kind of like a first again, because I have NO idea. The hardest part (probably because it's the first step) is the where. I could do it at my father's church, but that's about 40 minutes away, and would be a long drive for most people. I don't know. I'll have to get my butt in gear. haha!
another fear I have about a party is, what happens if no one shows up :(
I had a pampered chef party last year and NO one showed up.... I was all alone with My mom, the pampered chef consultant, and her mother. It was very sad, so I have this fear.
well, I suppose I've got a couple months to get stuff figured out.
On a lighter note, it's the Christmas season. I dressed up Jada and took a couple pictures by the tree that can be found on my facebook page (I can't seem to find them to upload them, haha)
I'm now 27 weeks pregnant, and cannot wait to be done.. this Dino baby LOVES to move and beat me up... he's just like his father. haha!!
This weeks events include Jada's Christmas (or "holiday") concert at her school & boy is she excited. Then we are hoping to go see Tangled next weekend, I hope we get to.
ooh Randomness!
We are having a cookie exchange at my work and I found out, no matter how hard I try I cannot bake anymore :( it's really sad, i've actually cried because of it.
so. I found this no bake recipe... for oreo balls!! oh gosh yum.
well about a year and a half ago, we bought a chocolate fountain that Marshal has been DIEING to use. so.. he melted 1/2 package of chocolate chips, 3/4 package of chocolate almond bark, 1 package of vanilla almond bark & 1 package of white chocolate chips... then dumped it into the fountain. While he was doing this, i crushed 1 whole package of oreos and mixed it with 1 and a half packages of cream cheese. I mixed it with my hands (to make the cream cheese even, don't worry, I washed my hands before & after). then i put them in little balls and stuck a toothpick in them, and froze them for about 15 minutes. After freezing them, I dipped them in the chocolate and stuck them back on the pan (I lined a small cookie sheet with wax paper.. this fit about 40 balls) and stuck them in the fridge for just a couple minutes, then I took out the toothpicks (if the chocolate broke really bad, i dipped it again) and put 12 in a zip-lock bag (for each person). I've been eating a few extras today and they are SO good.. mmmmmm....
anyways, that's about all that's gone on for my previous week. my life hasn't been that excited lately, I pretty much sleep all the time now. Hoping to store up for baby. Remember to check out my registry, and remember they are suggestions and ideas... haha.
hope everyone has a good week!

crash, boom, bang
Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a GREAT thanksgiving. (and a good weekend).
I do have to say that I had 3 terrific thanksgivings. with a ton of food and great people. It sure was fun.
Marshal's family, at first, didn't really warm up to me. They wanted us to wait to get married and then lectured us about waiting to have children and stuff like that. This was the first time I've really felt welcomed. They were joking and seemed to be easier on us then they usually are, so it was nice. I'm very thankful of that :D
Thanksgiving #1 was with my parents last week. We went to church, then to their house and watched a football game and of course had some delicious food (my dad is a GREAT cook).
Thanksgiving #2 was on Thanksgiving day. We we to Marshal's step-mother's parents house. They have 2 miniature Australian shepherds (google search it). Their names are Raz (he is 3 I think) and Jazz (who is a puppy!). Raz is a therapy dog. He goes into schools and nursing homes and give people company and lets them play with him. Jazz will be doing that eventually as well. Jada had SO much fun playing with them. Oh. Marshal's Parents dog was there (destiny.. she's 4 I think) and she is a pitbull/boxer mix. and a LOVER! we call her goober. Jada enjoyed all three of the dogs, and they enjoyed her too!! it was SO much fun.
Thanksgiving #3 was yesterday & at Marshal's Dad's Mom's house.. she's not really his mom, but she pretty much raised him. We call her Grandma Nancy. She is such a sweet lady. She's got a dog, golden retriever or lab I think, and her name is Lady, she is an old dog, but loves people & LOVES belly rubs.. While we were at her house Jada got to watch a doe eating the bird food that had fallen to the ground and was about 10 - 20feet away from the house.
On our way home (it was about a 90 minute drive.. and icy/snow covered roads) we ditched the jeep. A truck with a trailer had swerved to miss a deer. doing this caused them to come into our lane, towards us. Marshal had tried to slow down, and the truck went right into the ditch. We missed a mail box & fire number sign thing, jumped the driveway, and smashed into a tree. we were going slow when he started braking (about 45-50mph, on a 60mph road) so by the time we hit the tree, we were probably going about 15-20mph. This is a complete guess. I was asleep when he started to slow down and I woke up to him saying "CARMEN, HOLD ON!!" next thing I know, we hit the tree. we were able to back up, but the ditch was pretty steep, so we couldn't back out of the ditch. instead we followed a snowmobile trail to the next driveway, and after a couple of attempts, we made it out of the ditch.
There was a couple of branches stuck into the grill, the bottom of the bumper has a dent on the passenger side, and the driver side blinker light cover is a little broken, but still works. We all had our seat belts on, Jada was in a proper fitting car-seat (and she didn't even cry!!). My elbow hurts a little from bracing myself, and for the night I was very worried about Dino Baby.. he wasn't moving like he usually does. The accident happened about 8:10, and we were home by 9... When I finally got in bed after 10, I was pretty worried. Marshal snuggled up to me and Dino baby went nuts. he started kicking and moving around, and as of today, everything seems fine. so that was a HUGE relief.
I'm so proud of Jada for being so calm, that really surprised me. I even told her it was ok to cry because accidents are scary. all she wanted was her stuffed animal that she had just gotten from Grandpa Santa. it was amazing.
I thank God we had taken the Jeep, and that it didn't happen any sooner of later on that road, all the other ditches are VERY steep, and there's not a doubt in my mind that we would have rolled. It's also a good thing Marshal was driving, he's a great driver, and a fast thinker.
So after those events, I'm good for the next few months.
Today we spent the day in the house, doing pretty much nothing. We played some video games & set up the Christmas tree, pictures to come probably tomorrow. or whenever I write another blog. haha.
I hope everyone else's Thanksgiving was eventful, but in a better way then mine!!

24th Week
So... It's been about 2 weeks since i've written anything....
lets start from the beginning, just kidding, everyone knows I can't keep track of the order I do things...
Today I had my 24 week OB visit. I'm exactly 24 weeks as of today... you all know what that means right ;) (haha!)... Well. at my appointment I did a blood glucose test. now for those of you that have no idea what this is i'll explain. you drink 10oz of this NASTY orange 'juice' that has a ton of stuff in it (it's nasty, so who cares what the ingredients are, right?) Then 1 hour later, you get your blood drawn. They use it to check glucose tolerance, which measures diabetes and gestational diabetes.... So I got to the Dr early and went to do this test, got my blood drawn & went for my appointment. At the end of the the Appt. my Dr. said "you'll be doing the 'nasty drink' at the next appointment"... immediately I said "they had me do that today! it was in the lab orders... " ... turns out, she ordered it early.. I must have messed her up at the last appointment because I measured at 23 weeks insteady of 20, so according to her memory I was probably about 27 weeks... WRONG!.. haha. oh well. I have to do the test in 8 weeks now, atleast I get a break.
The appointment went good. Dino Baby's heart rate was between 150-155 and I measured big (again..) I was supposed to measure around 24, instead I measured 26.. I have only gained about 5 pounds since the start of this pregnancy. (which doesn't seem like much, but i am still complaining about it). My next appointment is in 4 weeks and we'll see what my measurements are like then.
The last couple weeks this Dino baby has been moving and grooving a LOT. Marshal got to feel him kick a couple of times. which is really exciting, the first time he was amazed, now it's like he doesn't care as much.... must be a man thing. Jada still hasn't felt baby brother, but she did ask where his heartbeat was... I'll have to bring home my stethoscope from work and see if it's to soon to try to use that for her to hear.
Also, this week is TURKEY week. Last Sunday we went to my parents church and then to there house and had turkey day there. It was so good. so 1 down, 2 to go. on Thanksgiving we will be going to (ready for this) my husband's step-mother's parents (so my step-mother-in-law's Parents).. oh I love getting together with that family, everyone is such good cooks.. I drool just thinking about it. Then on Saturday we are going to my father-in-law's Mother's house. I'm also excited for that... mmmm.... I don't eat as much as I used to (which is probably why i've only gained 5 pounds) but i still get full and enjoy the people (even tho I hardly know anyone on Marshal's side.... we don't talk to them much.. they are more 'loners' then my family)
But both of those days also means late nights for me. Dinner doesn't start until 5 (or that's when we are supposed to be there at least) and I'm usually in bed by 8 (I'm the oldest 20-year-old you'll ever meet). and both of the houses are about an hour away... ugh... I'll be tired.
It snowed up here too! in 1 day we got about 8inches (I'm really bad at guessing.... ) and boy was I ready for it! so was Jada!! She said it's all her fault because she "prayed for it" and now she's happy. :D But it's all fluffy and white and wonderful. I hate the cold, but I love the snow. I think it's so so beautiful!!
Anyways. That's about all my train of thought will do today. Hope everyone has a GREAT thanksgiving and drives safely!!
